I Need More Spoons

I am sad that my body will not keep up with what my mind wants to do.  I am really getting tired, no pun intended, of not having the spoons to knit my new knitting project after dinner.

Even more that I am in the mood to clean and declutter but if I do it standing and walk around the house, it’s 20 minutes max before I need a 2 hour nap.  If I am lucky enough to be able to do the project sitting down, I can go for hours.  I just can’t figure out why there is such a difference.

I have also decided to get a wooden coat stand with shelves for my knitting and spinning baskets.  That will free up more shelf space for yarn and kits.  It will also leave the floor empty so John can run his robot in the room occasionally.

Well it’s time to call it a day.

More Baby Steps

Today I started with 3 pound weights.  I did a number of upper body exercises plus some stretching. We walked again after dinner. We went a little further without stopping. This is what progress looks like after months of being a couch potato.

A little bit of knitting happened.  I have to say that after the little bit of exercises that I did, resulted in long naps.

This seems to be a recurring pattern these last 4 years.  Get in shape and my body makes a bad decision.  Then rest followed by trying to get back in shape.  The good news is that I never stop trying to slowly get back in shape.

The New “Busy Day”

I had a very productive day. I managed to get 3 things off my to do list.  Found out that a restaurant that we have not been to in a score of years had some really good food and lots of options for me.  We will be going back.

Yes I am still tired.  I took another nap today.  I seem to have lots of energy right afterwards, but it does not last long.

I would also like to thank Vicky and Michael from Grandma’s Spinning Wheel for being gracious enough to move me to a weaving class in December. I know that I will not be able to do a full day of weaving at this point in time.  Your kindness is very much appreciated by us right now.  I must have made someone’s day who was on the waiting list.

Spinning and More

I spent the morning clearing off my bobbins so I could start spinning for Spin Together on Grandma’s Spinning Wheel Team.  I fell a little, oh who I am I kidding, I fell way behind because of hand surgery on Tuesday morning.  These are the skeins that I took off. I will not be able to wash them until the stitches come out and my hand heals a little more.

After my nap I started spinning for Spin Together.  I managed to spin a few mini batts before my hand got tired.  I really like how the almost yarn looks.  I will be weaving scarfs and shawls, then post them on my Handmade by Sheri Facebook page and Instagram.  I am still in recovery mode so things are moving very slowly around here.
