It is almost 2 am as I start to write this blog post. Eric is having a very bad night and I can not seem to get him to go to sleep. But as hard as some nights are I find that I must be very grateful for all that I have in my life.
I am grateful for an understanding husband who provides everything we need.
I am grateful for my daughter and her independence. She will change the world for the better.
I am grateful for the ability to do laundry in the middle of the night, while the house is cool. It might not get folded right away but at least it's clean. Thank you power and water company for reliable service.
I am grateful for my knitting, the ability to take bits of string and make warm clothing items for those who are not as lucky as we are. I can sit with Eric and get him through the worst and still have time to give back. We live in the world of Gd's creation and I hope to leave it in a better place than I have found it.
I am grateful for my wonderful husband and children. They help me define my goals in life. Yes even in the middle of the night I am grateful for Eric. He does make me rise to the occasion. I would like to add that G'd does give us more than we know we can handle, but how we step up to the challenge is what matters even if we fall short of Gd's expectations.
I am also very grateful for all my friends. You make my life so much easier.
I would like to know what you are grateful for in your lives. Please feel free to leave a comment.
It is beginning to get very quiet so I hope to be able to get at least a few hours of sleep this morning.
A blog about my life, my fiber arts and pictures of my finished work. I will also throw in the very occasional recipe or shopping tip.

Bake Sale Announcment
On Wednesday, July 21, 2010 Eric's camping group Taglit will be holding it's annual Bake Sale.
It will be held from 10:00am to 3:30pm in the JCC lobby. The main parking lot is at the corner of Alvernon and Dodge it's big enough not to miss.
This year all the proceeds will benefit the Tucson Ronald McDonald House. This is a place where families can stay while their children are receiving treatment away from home, at a very nominal cost to the families.
In addition to the basket of goodies on the left, which is full of scarfs, bookmarks(the squiggly looking things) what nots, coasters and last but not least wash cloths. Yes the basket does look a bit empty and I am still making more goodies for it.
There will also be cookies, cupcakes, Rice Krispie Treats, brownies and lemon bars.
If you have any soda pop tops I will also leave a box for you to drop them off during the bake sale. Please put them in a clean Ziploc bag. The Tucson Ronald McDonald house uses the money raised from the soda pop tops to help pay the utility bills and other expenses. This is a year round project for Eric, he really does like helping the sick kids and their families.
So please stop by and get a mid-day snack or pick up something for a dessert treat for later in the day. While you are there you might want to also take a peek at the sculpture garden.
Please feel free to copy this post on put it on local bulletin boards.

Home
I had a great visit with Teri. I am now home.
On a sad note I had to frog everything I brought on vacation with me. But on the bright side I get more knitting time out of the yarn.
Happy to be home. I miss Teri already.
Enjoy your families.

Vacation So Far or My Adventures with Teri
Yesterday we started off the morning at an awesome donut shop not far from Teri's place called Physico Donuts, I kid you not a real place with really wonderful vegan doughnuts and the others doughnuts looked pretty awesome. I will post their address in a vacation summary when I get home. Then it was off to the mall for some serious shopping and walking. After dropping everything of at Teri's place we went to an awesome Art and Wine Festival that Teri found. We had some really fresh fruit to start lunch off. Followed by so fresh roasted corn. We found a fish and chips booth that served fish and chips and the fries we covered with fresh garlic. I have never had anything like that before, but they were wonderful. I wonder if it has anything to do with being so close to Gilroy, but I will definitely have them again and find a recipe to post on line. Yes the were really that good.
We had a great time walking around the art festival and saw a lot of incredible arts and crafts for sale. Since this is really a brief summary I will blog about the artists we found in a later blog.
After a 4 hour nap Teri brought in sushi for dinner at 9 pm. After a little girl chat it was off to sleep.
Today was another wonderful day. We started out at an impressionist art exhibit in Golden Gate park. with some great and not so great paintings. I think I like the Monet exhibit at the Phoenix Museum of Art is slightly better and they seem to have a better flow to their traveling exhibits. But I digress a little bit. The Original picture of Whistler's Mother was great, along with Monet's flag line street and a few others. Please try to go to this exhibit if you are in San Francisco during the show. A little pricey but worth the money.
We had Tea and sweets at the Japanese Tea garden an did walk around a little, but I was on the tired side and even with a snack in my tummy I really wanted lunch. Teri took me to a wonderful Dim Sum place for lunch. I shall also post the name and address of the Dim Sum place in my summary. We walked around the newer China Town in San Francisco. We then headed off to a factory tour but I did not get good vibes about the neighborhood it was in so we drove by and left. We then headed to a place called the Embarkadro. We had some local tea from Pete's tea and did a little shopping.
It is now 7 pm so I think I will wake my driver up so we can go and get some dinner. Did I mention how nice it is to be chauffeured around by a daughter who drives. The boys seems to be have fun at home also. I hear that they went to Miss Saigon's and Frost yesterday. Well have a great evening and enjoy your families.

A Travel Day
Today has been a rather long day, it started at 3:30 this morning. I would like to say that I was the only traffic on First Avenue until I got to Prince. I managed to miss the turn I was suppose to take to get to the airport, but made it there anyway. I did make some serious progress on my sock, I am at the heal flap and only have to tink 4 rows to fix the mistake. Two plane hops later my darling daughter Teri meet me at the baggage claim area. After hugs it was time to find my checked bag and head to lunch.
We had way to much food for lunch and went back to her apartment to catch up. Then it was off to Starbucks for me for some more serious knitting, while Teri went to class. After a short nap we went out to dinner with some of her friends. They are a nice group of young adults. Well it is pumpkin time for me. Have a great evening and enjoy your families.

It has been a while since I blogged
Eric has been home sick so many days that I have lost track of time. I have been busy cleaning, knitting and packing. On the knitting front I have almost finished a full basket of scarfs, what nots, coasters, bookmarks and wash cloths for Eric's camp fundraiser. They have chosen the Tucson Ronald McDonald House. When I have a date I will post it on line. I have been doing a lot of light cleaning and not the heavy duty fill the Goodwill box and recycle bin type of cleaning.
On a very happy note I will be leaving the guys at home and going to see my daughter tomorrow. If you see me at the airport I will be the very, very excited one. A visit with Teri is better than a shopping spree at my local yarn store. Sorry yarn stores but some things are even better than yarn.
And yes I will be trying to finish the pair of red socks that I started when Teri and I went to look at law schools. I am really on the second sock. Apparently it is easier for Teri to finish one year of law school than it is for me to finish one pair of socks. I have also packed a very easy to do 1 skein shawl pattern. Since I will let Teri do the driving I am sure to get a lot done after all it is on size 8 knitting needles.
I have not decided if I am going to try to borrow a computer or wait until I get home to blog. But Teri has some exciting things planed for us to do. I do hope she has saved time for long talks because I really miss them.
So I am going to wrap up the odds-n-ends and take care of Eric. Maybe I will even have time to knit before 8 pm tonight. I want everyone to have a great day and enjoy your families.
