An Update

It turns out that to get the battery replaced in my current  iPad will be approximately $800. With no guarantees on how long the new battery would last. So my husband did some research and using my current iPad as a trade-in, we can get a brand new iPad for about $60 more. The new iPad would come with a warranty. So we have to find time to go to the Apple Store together and buy a new iPad for replacement. 

With this option, at least Apple has to deal with the recycling of the E waste. I also find it very disheartening that Apple would not encourage replacement of the battery.But instead urge people to get a new iPad when the old iPad was still in perfect condition with the new exception of the battery. This is not environmentally, friendly in my humble opinion. This reek’s of profits over the environment.

So today, I will be spending the day transcribing patterns onto paper and then sometime next few weeks if I have time putting them in making the changes and putting the new patterns up.

My iPad battery is dying.

 Sorry for the lack of posts lately. My iPad battery is just about dead.  I can watch the battery life go down as I type.  I dislike being chained to a tethered cord, butter know as a charging cable.  

I find it difficult to do a blog post on my iPhone.  The keyboard is just to small.  I can hunt and peck with my pointer finger with very few errors.  This:however; is quite slow.  I am not able to type with 2 hands as 1 hand is holding the phone.

We will see what the genus bar can do for my iPad.  I know that the battery is harder to replace on an iPad. Wish me luck in getting the lower price option of a new battery instead of a complete replacement. 

The Yarn Knows Best

 I wanted to make a scarf out of this yarn.  I tried 2 different patterns.  They were just not looking good. The yarn wanted to be a shawl for summer.  I guess it’s a shawl for summer. The shawl even at this early stage looks a lot better than either scarf. Also if the iPad wants to take the photo sideways, who am I to argue with new technology when I specialize in very old technology. We are talking about ice age technology in some cases.

A Good Day

 Well I have reached the clumsy part of the flare up. No brain fog today.  The only question you have to ask is what did I not drop. That means I could manage more knitting today.  This afternoon I worked on a blanket until my hands got tired of tiny knitting needles.  Then I finished a hat, my 8th project of the year. Yes, I know it looks like a lot of other hats, I had a lot of this yarn.  One or 2 hats more in this color way.  Followed by a scarf for project number 9 tonight, pictures tomorrow in the sunlight.  I only started one new project today.

I sold a little of my stash for sale yarn.  1 box and 2 grab bags left the house.  Met with a friend for lunch outside and knitting.  Did a little cleaning.  Meet an on line yarn buddy. 

I also think I might have dropped my iPad one too many times.  It is acting really wonky on top of the strange colors.  It’s time to pick out a military grade case and the new configuration.  Plus back this one up.  I have had this pad so long I don’t think that they will give me any trade in credit.  I have to admit that I am not as prepared this time.  My current one was bought through gift cards that I save up.  

All About Eric

It seems that Eric is good at keeping John up too. So it is just not just me that Eric messes around with. Eric can also have his humorous moments too. Take this morning for example. We were watching CNET's top 5 for Father's Day. When the Belkin key board for the iPad came on. Eric got all excited. I asked if that's what he wanted to get dad for Father's Day, he signed yes. I told him there was only one problem with that. We do not have an iPad. He turn to John and glared at him. Like everyone is suppose to have one. So back to the drawing board on that one.

I later took Eric to Tucson Mall to look for some summer shorts in 16 slim. We hit every store in the mall. Every store had regular and husky in his size. One sales clerk even said kids don't come in that size, so we don't carry shorts in that size. Isn't it ironic that a thin young man can't find shorts in his size because he is not over weight. I guess they forgot to tell Eric. So I guess it's time to go surfing to find a couple of pairs of shorts.

I am hoping for a quiet night. To night is my night to get up with Eric.
