8 Feet

I cleaned out 8 feet of shelf space today.  It is in the back of my car for drop off tomorrow.  John has really enjoyed this unique Valentines Day Gift. There is more work to do but the back of my car is full again with tomorrow’s charity donation.

Hopefully my right hand will be functioning shortly.  I am getting tired of mass cleaning. I don’t know what else to do when knitting, spinning and weaving are very limited and make my hand sore.

A Little Progress

The stitches came out today. My hand is still sore. No schedule date for the next finger.  No knitting for a while yet.  So tomorrow I will warp a loom with a 12 dent heddle. Take some Cascade lace weight yarn and weave myself a shawl.  I have a truly awesome idea in my head. It will be a one of a kind creation.

I also listed several books and magazines on Ravelry for sale in the Destash and ISO Library group.  I will add more. All books are 1/2 the retail price plus postage.  Other things will be added when I take their pictures.

Home at Last

It has been a rough week here at Casa Karobonik. Apparently when I stopped to catch my breath from the very busy time around here, pneumonia snuck into Eric's lungs. Eric has been sick all week and Wednesday we landed up at Tucson Medical Center for 3 days. They were at overflow capacity so they took 1 unit from pediatrics and made it into an adult over flow unit. The staff was very nice and we worked well together. The end result is that Eric is now at home in his bed sleeping with his 2 favorite friends.

This trip did leave John and I with a little hospital bed envy. Tucson Medical Center now has the Stryker S3 MedSurg Beds that fit Eric to a T. He was so comfortable in it despite being so sick. It was so much easier to use than his current bed which we bought used ( 20 years old ) 15 years ago. We were talking about how nice it would be to have one of the new Stryker S3's for Eric at home. We then looked at the hefty price tag for the new ones and realized that this was out of budget and that the insurance would probably not cover it. So we will try to see if we can get Eric's current bed serviced.

This weekend we plan to lay low so everyone can get back to center after this week. Surprisingly I do not have that much laundry to do, mostly John's and mine. Eric will be home with me next week. We will have a few short excursions out, but they will be very limited.

My left hand is still not up to par and I did not even get a fraction of the knitting done that I usually do when Eric is in the hospital.  My hand is more sore than it has been in quite a while. I hope that with less tension in my life that it will start to feel better, until then I will do some weaving.

A quick update

It has been a busy time around here. Eric managed to get the flu that has been going around town. Yes he made it back to camp today. I did not get much knitting or spinning done due to my sore hand. This could also be why not many blogs have gotten typed either. I did go to the doctor for the sore hand and we tried the least invasive treatment first. We are giving it a week to see if it works and then go from there if necessary.

I have done a little deep cleaning, all the phone books that were not printed this year are gone. I think it might have been a tactical mistake to put the heavy items on the bottom of the barrel but we will see as the week goes on.   I am not sure how many of the new ones that I will actually keep since most of the information is on line anyway. I now have 3/4 of a shelf that is over my head and of no use to this short person. Maybe John needs some space in the laundry room? Well you never know right. I also did some regular cleaning after I realized that the cleaning faerie skipped my house today. Maybe I will try a house elf next. I hear they are more reliable.

My favorite bakery in Phoenix has closed this summer and I will miss all the home style goodies that they made so well. Not to mention the bread.  I might even have to start making holiday treats myself.

Well it is getting late but I thought everyone might like to know that we are all doing well.

Catching Up

I have been very busy since Wednesday with routine stuff., and therefore to busy to blog. Here is a brief catch up for everyone. Teri got a summer internship in the bay area and will be with in walking distance from a Bart station. Eric made it to school every day this week, to bad he only has a few more days of the school year left.

I have also done a lot of knitting and spinning this week. I really don't know if that contributed to a sore left hand and swollen thumb this morning. I have put my hand in a brace and the swelling seems to be going down although the clicking still seems to be there. I have spent the entire day Not spinning or knitting and to cope I went through old knitting magazines picking out the patterns that I want before I pass the magazines on.  Maybe I can swap them for fluff on Raverly.

Well my hand is very tired so it is time to say goodnight to everyone.
