2 Out Of 3

2 out of 3 fingers on my right hand are doing much better.  They are almost usable for knitting again.  I was able to go through some of my fiber stash and do a bit of stash busting.  I have a full laundry basket to go.   I managed to card 3 mohair batts.  I also reorganized part of my fiber stash closet.  It no longer resembles Fibber McGee and Molly’s closet. Nothing will fall down when the doors are opened.  I can even do some easy kitchen stuff.  Just don’t ask me to chop an onion  or do dishes by hand yet.

What I had a hard time with was drying my hair. Halfway through I needed to use both hands to hold the dryer wand, the kind with the hair brush built in.  My hair survived.  With the laundry sorting the wet clothes was easy as was doing the hand wash.  What I found hard was putting the wet clothes on hangers.

I still did a lot of resting today.  This flare up has been less than lady like.  This morning it was 10 minutes of work and 30 minutes of rest.  By this afternoon it was an hour of work followed by a 2 hour nap and I am still exhausted.  I think the stress from the roof leaks, yes that’s multiple leaks and the dampness of the Monsoon was just too much stress on my body.

I am not ready for knitting yet, however; if my hand feels better tomorrow I might try some weaving or plying some yarn.  I have a box of mini skeins and 4 bobbins that need to be emptied and plyed. The picture below is the latest update to the fiber closet.  I know it will still look very messy to most, but some of you will notice a huge change.  There are only 2 bags of fiber left on the top shelf.

Progress?

Today was better.
Arthritis- 1
Sheri - 1
So I will call it a tie.
I am on the last broader round of a baby shower gift 6 months over do.  I dis not sleep most of the day. I am still exhausted though I even managed to put a few things away and drop the crochet hook under the couch twice. Progress in a wired Sheri way.

Errands

Today I got out of the house for some errands. I managed to get to the library to return the equipment on loan from the Library of Congress, Services for the blind and disabled. The librarian knew he was supposed to take them back, but had to research were to send them.  He was really nice.

Then it was off to the Flowing Wells School District main office to drop off the hand knit hats, socks and a few school supplies.  They were very happy to receive everything. All 3 bags full.

Then off to drive across town to drop off a check and check out a venue.  I think the event will be inside.  That’s great because it’s supposed to rain on Sunday. Then I went shopping and headed home. A 9 hour work day left me exhausted. Did I mention that I started making earrings and stitch markers at 6 am and forgot to eat breakfast because I was so busy.

After dinner I got in some weaving time on the new scarf. I even managed to empty a shuttle.  I am almost at the splash of red part.

It’s 10:30 pm and I am so tired that my body is saying go to sleep. I really don’t know how I managed such long hours with Eric. I guess I am a mere mortal now.

In the Blender Yet Again

I know things are crazy around here when my to do list takes a backseat to life. John has the crud Du jour.  So I did my best to keep the guys apart, we will know if I was successful later this week.  So I tried to get an early start on chores.  I managed to get 3 loads of laundry done, there would have been more done but I ran out of clothes line space.  I managed to get 3 more skeins of hand spun yarn washed, but due to the damp cold weather ( 1 inch of rain last night) it is taking forever to dry. The dishwasher was run and, emptied and refilled.

Then it was time to fix the vacuum cleaner. For those of you with 3D printers, may I suggest using the shop vacuum to clean up around your printers.  The regular household upright vacuum was not designed to vacuum up filament. Just ask me how I know.  It jams up the beater bar.  It’s a 30 minute very messy job to do.  Did I mention how messy it is?

I also did not need my lunch to explode in the microwave oven.  Who knew that stuffed cabbage was messier than pinto beans, when heated up in the microwave.  It will get cleaned tomorrow, because I did not feel like standing on the step stool to wash it out.

Then under no good deed goes unpunished. I used rumba to vacuum the kitchen floor before I went to Scooba it.  While roomba did a great job and did not knock over my knitting baskets, loom and spinning wheel used as a road block.  Scooba on the other hand died after 10 minutes and would not go any further.  So I mopped the floor using the diluted cleaning solution from Scooba.  20 minutes later the mopping was done and so was I.  By the way I put Scooba in a timeout until we get a new battery.  This upset Eric to no end.

This is why I still have 7 items on my to do list with more to be added tomorrow.  I am exhausted.  Yes, Eric did get enough mommy time today too. I only had the energy to knit 7 rows on Eric’s next hat.  That is 784 stitches. The mittens have not been started.

If someone could lend me their magic wand for tomorrow that would be wonderful.
